In J.R.R. Tolkien's writings there is a unique place where people on a difficult and challenging journey find rest, protection, friendship, and preparation to continue their task. The name of that place: Rivendell.
Our desire at Rivendell Fellowship is to articulate a refreshing theology of hope founded simply on the belief that God, through Christ, has not forsaken us to this world. He is faithful to remind us of his presence, in a variety of ways, as we participate in stories of hope and redemption within meaningful relationships. Our desire is to draw individual lives and culture to consider and engage the radical claims of the Gospel.
Rivendell Fellowship gathers every Sunday morning on the campus of the University of Tulsa in the BSU building - located at 710 S College - to eat breakfast, sing, and find our place in the Story of Stories. (Breakfast is served at 10:30, some music usually starts around 11:00.)
We are an independent church who is both non-denominational, and simultaneously, strive to be interdenominational, including valuable and meaningful practices from a variety of places and groups. Our teaching usually focuses on specific texts in Scripture, often reading through a book of the Bible or a larger selection of text (like the Sermon on the Mount). We dress casually, are interactive in worship and welcome children as well as adults.
